I kinda miss pagers to be honest. People couldn't send you a long winded text about everything you're supposedly doing wrong. We kept it simple with code numbers.

That was what the local news seemed to think. If you had a pager and were not a doctor (or other such "must be able to get ahold of you 24/7" professional), you were a drug dealer. They fostered that notion with footage of presumed dealers sitting out on the street corners, getting a page, and going to a pay phone.the common perception where I worked was that it was predominantly drug dealers who had them.

I don't either. I once put the receiver of a pay phone up to my ear only to find out someone had put ketchup all over the earpiece. My cousin got a good laugh out of that even though he wasn't the one who did it.I don't miss pay phones.
