Could have been Chicken Little that got hit in the head and Henny Penny was another character in the book or even in another book. I had forgotten Chicken Little. Been so many decades gone by in a flash since I was in the first grade.

No they are all names for the hen who got hit on the head.
I was confused for decades!
I learned both Henny Penny and Chicken Licken as a child.
I met Chicken Little as an adult when I was reading a friend’s kid’s book.

I'm old enough to remember when nobody locked their doors. In the summer you slept with the windows open, and the only reason the screen doors were latched was to keep the critters out.

Screens kept out the four six eight or more legged critters and not the two legged ones

When it was hot, we used to sleep with the front and back doors propped open for cross-ventilation. We never worried someone would come in.

When I was 16 (1978), my mom had to search for the key to lock up the house, as we were going on a 3 week road trip. We just never locked the house.

I can remember playing with the ash tray lids on the arm rests as a kid. I can't believe smoking was even allowed on airplanes!

I remember each seat having its own air vent and light

I remember console T.V.s. The first color one we had gave everything an orange tint.

I remember watching wizard of oz once a year on a black and white tv and finally getting a color tv and being disappointed shocked because it was still in back and white
