impacted crop

There's a ton of long posts written about how to handle sour or impacted crop, I suggest doing a search. First things first - are you sure he/she HAS an impacted crop? How do you know? Signs? How long has this been going on? Did you isolate the bird?

I've dealt with Sour and Pendulous crop, one episode that may have been an "impaction" but not sure because of the "pendulous" component.

Do you have any idea what the bird may have gotten into to cause this problem? All of a sudden having access to hay or tons of cut grass/greenery?

I had a chicken with an impasted crop and what i did was seperated her and fed her bread with olive oil on it and when she ate it i would massage the mass. I did this for a couple of days and the mass broke up and now she is back with the flock. i hope this helped.
