Impacted Crop?

Okay, working on getting a used dog kennel. Found one for $10, something in my range as a student

So basically, this is what I've gotten on what to do:

Massage crop at least twice a day. -I'm assuming with a downward motion to encourage digestion?

ACV, how much per how much water?

For soft nutrition, any ideas? All we have is grower pellets since the three little ones aren't laying yet.

Thanks for all the help,

I really appreciate it.

Sounds great!
The ACV you buy will tell you how much to use on the bottle

Soft nutrition - you can make a porridge using the pellets and water. Maybe add a little pro-biotic yoghurt too?

By the time I get everything, I hope I'm not too late! I mean, obviously she's getting enough nutrition to lay eggs o.o ?

I use 1 tsp/gallon. How's your hen today? Hang in there with her. One evening my pullet was so bad I thought for sure she would be dead by morning then the next morning she never looked so good. Then her crop was big and hard again and I thought it must have been annectdotal but her crop emptied by the next morning. It took her some time to get over it and catch up.

I'll find out on Friday or Saturday when I see my G'ma from school. I think she's a tough one though. I mean ever since we had her the crop's been like this. Buying the pet carrier / dog kennel today so I can help my uncle and Grandma isolate her; boy she won't like that. Last time we caught her, her best friend nearly attacked us.

Is this a logical reason on why she eats more-so than all the other hens?

Okay..

I was massaging the crop and... I felt and impaction. Felt like a bunch of long rocks.

I told my uncle.. he said she's lived with it this far...

I don't think they're interested in treating it.

You can make sure they drink the water with the ACV by turning off the spigots where your hoses are. I had to do that as well because my hens love hanging out where the water drips. There's also a thread on here on how to flush out their crop. I'll try to find it and post the link.
