In a word, how would you describe your garden as of today?

Meh.

We did a large expansion this year. (Full dump truck of soil was used).

Overall though, it's ok. The garden I established last year is doing quite well. Lost a few broccoli to cabbage flea beetles, and now they are bolting because the heat is ridiculous. Lost almost all the slicing cucumbers I planted. BUT we had enough snap peas for a side dish yesterday! :celebrate

We made a new bed for asparagus, they are doing well, made two new greenhouses for tomatoes and peppers - they are also doing well overall. We moved our raspberries to dedicated (new) beds and they are doing fantastic! (Second move in three years)

My sore point is what I'm calling the Kitchen Garden (formerly known as the overrun weed jungle.) We're attempting to wrangle it in after being neglected by the previous owners for at least 5 years. So far, the weeds are fighting hard, and the slugs have wiped out almost all my bush beans, with some broccoli and cabbage for good measure. They are now attacking my sunflowers. 😢 My husband keeps reminding me that we knew this garden would be a pain for the first year or two, and oh boy is it ever.

Make your own zucchini bread - she's busy! :lau

I cube up and blanch before freezing. I need to get into the shredding business, though. I have a mandolin, but I make sure to have 911 on speed dial every time I get it out.
I have tried. I do all the cooking in our house but I am not a baker. My zucchini bread comes out heavy and dense and hers is gift from God.

Im on year 4 with mine and it is still a huge undertaking to maintain. We bought our place 4 yrs ago and the garden was carved from what was old cow pasture. Decades if weed and grass seed banked in the rock hard clay soil. My father just visited this past wknd and he could not believe that I can get anything to grow in this ground, but I do with A LOT of work.

It sounds like it will be awesome! Don't give up!

I don't really know... failure, pickling cucumber, mess or lettuce
My first attempt at making pickles ended in mushy spears. But those mushy spears made awesome relish!
By the 3rd batch i got it down.

Weeded!

I spent about 5 hours whacking at the grass sprouting. I hauled that stuff out of there by the cartload.

We're having 4 mature oaks taken down by the house, and the limbs under 4" will be chipped. I will have gobs of mulch to put on that heavy clay soil and hopefully next year it won't be so dense.
