Brainstorming again. Thinking maybe keeping Malay in all of the crossings.


Brahma/Easter Egger X Malay

Silkie/Sumatra X Malay

Breeding only the 2 crosses with the Malay in them. Brahma/Easter Egger/Malay X Silkie/Sumatra/Malay.

Won't be surprised if there's color leakage, I'll work on breeding out color leakage to create a solid black bird.

As much as I love bantams, finish the large fowl first, and then focus on shrinking them

Awesome I have big plans for breeding for egg color as well. But as far as your "breed," wouldn't they essentially be EEs as well, since they're bred with EEs? Easter Eggers is a pretty broad term and not necessarily a breed. Or do you know the crosses of your EEs?

Ok, so i finshed the ref picture and i think this is more of a dream than a reality right now. The breeds i currently own have some of the right genetics for what I want but unless i dig deep into this breeding then i will have to get more breeds.

OH yeah, I love bantams!! But if you need to start at the large fowl first do that, then make the bantam version..

Bantam Dwarfism is a form of Sex Linked Dwarfism, which is neat.

Not really actually. I'll be breeding away from the typical traits that Makes an EE. I'm only including EEs in the project for the blue egg, gene to create the green egg color this breed will lay. Plus they're the only ones I have that lay blue eggs.
