In an emergency, is it safe to eat the geese at my local park?

Not really. You can always make a fire. People stored meat for centuries before electricity. You could smoke it, pickle it, sink it in a bog, ferment it, dehydrate it, in some places like where I live you can freeze it in the winter, you can can it, etc. All you need is a fire and a wee bit of pre-electricity equipment.

People lived for an awful long time in large numbers before electricity came around.
This. It's very true, people salted pork and it kept for a long time.

That's a good point. Even if you had a cow, you still wouldn't have a way to keep it fresh for very long.

That's why cows are good up north where it freezes. You butcher it, pack it in snow, instant freezer for the winter. Chop off a chunk with an axe when you need it, or take your time smoking it or jerking it or fermenting it piece by piece.

It could be fun to hear each person's posts with their own pronunciation and accent.
Or perhaps funnier to hear each post with someone else's pronunciation and accent :D
I totally agree.
I wonder what mine would sound like in a German accent? Or a Scottish? What about Texan? Or even Minnesotan? What about Australian? Ooh! Boston would be fun. The possibilities are endless, really.

I am American. However, there are many different sub-accents in the US. I don't know if I really have an accent? It would be like North-West?
That's true. Though it is hard to hear your own accent.
