OK, Quick poll: How many people reading this (still) have a flip phone?

Or better yet, a
land line!

My mobile is 10 years old, nearly 11; not a flip, a Nokia, and pay-as-you-go. I got it in case of emergency on the road, and I really like the fact that it is NOT a smart phone (i.e. small computer - except when I'm in need of google maps, of course

). I spend about £30 a year on it, and the battery lasts a week (yes, really

). The point about support is very pertinent: I have to change the sim when the current credit runs out, as the provider insists on going over to (vastly more costly) monthly subs henceforth, while still claiming it is a PAYG

So it's goodbye that provider. The hunt for a provider that still supports 3G (or is it 2G? dunno) was challenging but I found one that works here in the end...for now anyway. After that, it must go without saying that we have a landline
Because we're squirrels we also still have and play 20-30 year old versions of various board games - I expect the (adult) kids will ask to get out (at least) Monopoly, Cluedo, Othello, Uno, Pit and a deck or two of cards when we're all together at Christmas, and I really look forward to it!
