In your opinions...which is the most friendly breed?

Definitely our Delaware hens, always tripping us and we can pick them up and hold them no problem, they are very laid back. And, silkies, golden comets, and our sweet Houdan hen (she topped the list).

Out of all my breeds (and I have a lot) the Shamo are the friendliest. We take them on walks daily to let them exercise those long, long legs. My 3 year old tries to pick up the rooster and it doesn't even faze him. They come right up as soon as their pen door is opened and you can pick them up, pet them, feed them from your hand and they just follow us around the yard for as long as they are out. Right now my hen is setting... on one egg

so she isn't social but they are two of my favorite chickens. More info + pics

This may sound weird, but one of my most friendly chickens is a Sebright roo. He loves to be a lap chicken. Weird, I know.
The others that seem to be very people-oriented are my Brahma/cochin mutts, and my silkie.

My Barred Rocks and the few BR crosses are extremely friendly, not to mention curious and bright. I have two Ameraucana girls who are always asking to be picked up and snuggled. They love to be carried around for long periods, too.

Sounds like there are a lot of friendly chickens out there. Just to make sure I have the bases covered I hatched some silkies....and I have an order coming from MPC that includes:
1 - Australorp
1- Easter Egger
1- Barred Plymouth Rock
1- Buff Laced Polish
1- Silver Laced Wyandotte
1- Golden Laced Wyandotte

I have heard the Wyandottes can be a bit bossy but hopefully with a lot of handling and love the will be sweethearts.

All of our are friendly. I have noticed that as they age, the ladies go through phases of friendliness. Right now, the friendliest of our flock, in no particular order, are ..
White Wyandotte
Jersey Black Giant
Dominique
White Faced Black Spanish
Columbian Wyandotte
Rhode Island Red

This bird has not been mentioned yet but is by far the most friendly in our large flock, they are our Golden Comets. just a really good docile chicken breed, my wifes favorite Comet is Haley, just a real looker and just a little sweetheart, so that is my vote.

I would have to vote for cochins, brahmas, and golden laced wyandottes. My favorite hen is a black cochin bantam. She was broody for a long period of time and altho most broody hens scream if you so much as get close to their nesting box she never screamed at me.... in fact she house trained herself. She would let me know when she had to go poop so id pick her up and let her outside in the yard to do her business and after she was done she flew up onto my shoulder and showered me in kisses, she also loved to come in the house and watch tv. Now shes not broody anymore and is outside with the rest of the flock but she never hesitates to fly up onto my shoulder and give me kisses anytime im out there with them.
