I think I was making myself a little crazy, because the air cells looked so different from the last time that I had candled them. I think the air cell size is fine. It seems a little big when you are looking from up above, but it is very sloped, so not actually taking up as much of the eggs as it appears to. I took a peak with my LED at the ends of the eggs just for peace of mind. All of them are still moving in there. None of them have internally pipped, and my paranoia about squishing them to death with with giant air cells has been relieved. Hopefully we will see internal pipping by Wednesday maybe?? They are due on Saturday.
Thank you for hanging in there with me! I am still a little nervous, but reassured and ready for ducklings!!!
oh...and still some condensation, but no dripping when down to just one washcloth...so I am thinking that is better...water reservoirs are staying full.
Just been keepin an eye on air cells for size. I was going to get one, and then read so many things on here about how different people in different places need totally different levels of humidity...yikes...
I took a quick peek last night with an LED just to make sure they were all still moving in there, and they were. No internal pips, yet...so I figured we were on schedule for Wednesday lockdown. Today is only day 30. I open the incubator tonight as if I was turning them (which I'm not anymore) and after checking a couple of the eggs (still no internal pips for those, yet) I noticed that one of them had an EXTERNAL PIP!!!!!! Did I just shrinkwrap my baby????
I quickly closed the incubator and now I am a nervous wreck....absolutely no more opening it, but what the heck should I do??? I posted on another thread, so hopefully someone can help. Last night I was calm and cool...tonight I am back to freaking out a bit...it is still moving and I think I heard peeping.
OMG! Yipes! I hope he didn't get shrink wrapped. I just don't know though. Way too early to do any helping. Could you wrap a washcloth just around that egg to raise its humidity, you think? Would that help?
I don't know...I have heard leave the incubator alone, and I have heard other people say they have opened during hatch to increase humidity. I feel so clueless...

That is what my gut was saying, so I haven't opened it at all. I heard some peeping this morning and saw movement...just waiting and biting my fingernails. Is it bad to be this early???
