The Crazy Chicken Lady
I have been setting pea eggs since Feb. I am pretty sure those first ones were not fertile but since then it seems mine are quitting before hatch or possibly dieing in the shell before pipping.
I have some in my Sportsman 1202 with them on the bottom hatch tray and I turn them by hand twice a day, over and over and end over end. I also have some in my syrofoam Genesis Hovabator 1588 forced air and some in a LG still air. AND I have some under a Silkie hen. I also turn those 2 times a day in case she can't do it properly.
At some point, I am going to figure this peafowl egg hatching out. I have never had trouble with any other eggs until the peas.
I read that incubating with duck eggs is not a good idea but all my bators have duck, turkey, Guinea and chicken in with the pea eggs. Maybe that is where I am going wrong?
