Incubating peafowl

I have been setting pea eggs since Feb. I am pretty sure those first ones were not fertile but since then it seems mine are quitting before hatch or possibly dieing in the shell before pipping.

I have some in my Sportsman 1202 with them on the bottom hatch tray and I turn them by hand twice a day, over and over and end over end. I also have some in my syrofoam Genesis Hovabator 1588 forced air and some in a LG still air. AND I have some under a Silkie hen. I also turn those 2 times a day in case she can't do it properly.
At some point, I am going to figure this peafowl egg hatching out. I have never had trouble with any other eggs until the peas.

I read that incubating with duck eggs is not a good idea but all my bators have duck, turkey, Guinea and chicken in with the pea eggs. Maybe that is where I am going wrong?

Should I turn them 3 or 4 times a day? End over end, as well as rolling on their sides?

Thank you.

Hi Peaexperts. I'm Mary Beth, and I need help with a peachick hatch. I have had a breeding trio since last fall, and they've been laying for about two weeks. Each hen laid 3-5 eggs in a clutch, then sat.

The hen on 3 eggs abandoned her nest on about day 10. I watched her for a day to see if she would return but she did not. I candled the three and found 2 clear, 1 had progressed but I could not see any movement. She had been off of it overnight and for the bettter part of the day, I believe, and our nights are still cool here. I quickly stuck it in my brinsea 20EX. I laid it on its side and set the temp to 100 and humidity to 60%. I also have it autoturning. I just candled and there is definitely development and lots of movement. By my count, this should be day 18.
My first question is, how do I date for 'lockdown'? The peahen sat on May 9. So I was planning hatch out on June 6. I think everyone ususlly says a day 25 lockdown for peas? I'm just wondering since the egg was not progressing while she was off of it and she was off of it for at least a full day and night, maybe more, should I give the egg a couple of extra days to develop or just go with the usual 25 day lockdown?
Question 2: I've read that peachicks don't hatch well with humidity pumps. True? Should I remove the pump and try to use the 'peapad'/maxipad method you guys talke about or another method to try to increase humidty?
Question 3: If it does hatch, what the heck will I do with one solitary peachick? I have chickens hatching ttoday, but I doubt the broody will take a peachick later. I also have turkey chicks, but they are 4 weeks old by now. Suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

When it makes it's pip on the outer shell then stop turning, that's what I do. I do not do a "lockdown" My eggs go from tray to floor of incubator (I use a Hovabator) that's it. Once the eggs hatch the birds go into the brooder and I replace the hatched eggs with new one - it's an endless cycle LOL! You can put the peachick in with the other chicks it will be fine and it will learn to eat and drink from them. Good Luck!

Hello! I have this incubator and I was wondering what kind of thermometer you use. I'm just getting started, last season I let my hen sit on her 5 eggs and I only hatched one chick

This year I plan on doing better after all I'm only 18 so I have a long career lol

Any tips on getting an older hovabator to hatch peachicks would be greatly appreciated

I bought a digital with display off Ebay from Incubator Warehouse and it is not an Egg O Meter, it's the other white one LOL!
