Just remember, the first day you set them is day 0, not day 1... Day 1 is after 24 hours of incubation. Being bantam, they may hatch a bit earlier than 21 anyway, so locking down a little early doesn't hurt.

I had no idea some can hatch early because they're part bantam. I love learning new things!Just remember, the first day you set them is day 0, not day 1... Day 1 is after 24 hours of incubation. Being bantam, they may hatch a bit earlier than 21 anyway, so locking down a little early doesn't hurt.
Mine have always been pretty spot on - late 20-21 days. I've never hatched bantams myself, but have heard as much in what I've read when preparing for my hatches. Some heavy breeds can be a bit slower too. Temps also play a big role in this - a bit too cold can mean a later hatch - and a bit too hot, earlier. - both can negatively impact the embryo though, so I wouldn't go warming things up trying to get them out any earlier.I had no idea some can hatch early because they're part bantam. 3 of my 4 eggs under my hen hatched day 20, and the fourth one in the wee morning hrs of the 21st day; so they can hatch early - even non bantam eggs!I had no idea some can hatch early because they're part bantam. I love learning new things!![]()
I’m on day 4 and saw veins in some which was promising. In some of the the others I saw little black dots moving around, is this a good thing? In some of the others I saw what I thought was nothing, but after seeing your posts it looks like shadowing, could all the eggs still have hope, or is it just the veins ones that are likely to be good?Veins are fantastic. A black dot would amazing and definitely good signs!
These were my silkies at day 3! Hardly anything but some shadowing and blood islands but as of now day 9 they're all doing great.
Day 5 I had hearts and an eye! I think you will, too!
That black dot would be the heart or eye, depending on size and age. If you're on day 4, I had a beating heart at day 5 that was clearly visible so I would say that is likely what you see!I’m on day 4 and saw veins in some which was promising. Glad I stumbled upon this!!! I'm in lockdown with 9 silkies and wondering why no external pips yet!Just remember, the first day you set them is day 0, not day 1...
