hi venySo tired today...
She was a pretty woman from CC, TX... not far from where I grew up. Thing is, you can find a dance floor full of beautiful women just like her most every weekend at the Yellow Rose...
Day 20 here. No pips, no sounds. Dark eggs, marans and OE's that are pretty dark. Do you guys find that the dark eggs take longer..I've not done too many of them, because I've had great luck with them. Keeping the humidity up a little higher than I normally do, temp down where I normally do for lock down. I do have a couple of lighter eggs in there, not worried with the bit of difference in things though.

These are two breeds I will probably be ordering eggs for![]()
can u private message me so I rememberCH, I'm going to discourage you and encourage you in the same post so please don't get upset. Cemani's aren't where you need to go and I know you look around and see expensive eggs. They are expensive for a reason and that's not because somebody buys some eggs and starts selling chicks. My first question is, do you like culling perfectly healthy chicks? It will happen if you are serious about Cemani's. Buy from reputable breeders, you will pay dearly but better off. Going rate for a good Cemani is about $18-$22 per egg. Straight run chicks $100-$200 dollars each. And the cost goes up from there. And of course, this does not include shipping. Mine run $20 per egg. The other thing is that you need to understand the breeding process and realize how many birds you going to go through before you get you breeding flock. Lots of money quickly. If you can see the breeding stock in person, even better and know what lines they are bred from. There are many reputable breeders across the country and on the BYC too that you can verify the info I'm giving you. These reputable breeders will not sell eggs for half of market rate.
Seramas are no peach to hatch either. Very very sweet birds. We've had them before and they are fun.
Find you some good layers to start out with and get your incubation methods spot on first. With good layers you can sell fresh eggs.
If and when you get your incubation methods down, meaning you can do it in your sleep and know what to do when problems arise, I'll send you some purebred eggs on my dime. Not Cemani's but some RIR's or such. Deal?
I know this won't be next week so don't ask, get a few hatches under you belt and then we'll talk.
Remind me not to come visit you... I don't do snakes. Absolutely irrational, but real aversion to the little buggers.Assuming he was inside, is there any chance he could've gotten snake-bit? Don't laugh; I see rat snakes in my house 4-5 times a year.
