veny what is your humidity at with that running? you can use a adjuster screw (plastic) for the aquarium to adjust it right?
Oh that's not mine! I just saw the idea on another forum and thought it was brilliant. I think the user said they went from 30% to 50% (not sure) you can look it up on the backyardchickens subreddit

lets put it this way.....

if you have bantams, mark air cells at day 16-17 depending what kind of bantams and lock down

if you have standard size eggs you can mark air cells day 16 or 17 if you really feel the need to and set them probable pip area upright and just get ready to add water on day 18 for lockdown. but if your new wait until day 18 and mark them. experienced hatchers know what they should look like at all days so this timing is not important as it is for you! and for us to help you! so mark at day 18 in case we need to help you later on!

Why do you feed them dog food ?
I feed it to them to boost their protein. A lot of people here on BYC do that. I know it's not the most effective (some say giving them the actual meat or fish would work better), but combined with the fermented feed and vegetable/fruit treats the majority of them had a fairly short molt. Only one is having a hard time with it, I'm giving her extra care and attention.

Some people feed dog or cat food to their chickens to boost the protien of an iffy feed. You can also use Catfish chow... my Guineas werent allowed to free range and since Guinea fowl are heavy buggers I gave them a five to one ratio flock raiser and Catfish. One scoop catfish mixed in with five scoops of feed.

I would scatter some for the chickens too. It looks like pelleted chicken feed. so they couldnt pick it out they all loved it.
Now there's an idea! Never thought to use the catfish food. We buy dog food for our collies so I just use some of that for the birds too when they need the protein boost for molts.
