I think that's normal. He wants her to lay some eggs and make some babies.

Assuming he was inside, is there any chance he could've gotten snake-bit? Don't laugh; I see rat snakes in my house 4-5 times a year.

He was inside his crate like every night. He is in the kitchen/dining area by the sliding door/air vent. Never had snakes inside tho. I asked my in laws about that possibility, the only snake that has ever been in their house was when my BIL bought one home with a tank from his friend before they forced him to give it back

But we do have hobo spiders/black widows/other various poisonous spiders here. I checked his face, didn't find any obvious puncture wounds, vet didn't see anything either. They thought it might have been a spider that bit him when he ate it... Which he would do.

my roos dont make hens happy like saris said nope, they think they own them, even my big brahma roosters think they own me too, sorry cant help ya ch... see if the others can!

Well, if he was crated, and spiders have been ruled out, I'm fresh out of ideas....unless he could have a dental infection.

If you mean normal that they are in there together, then yes. My bantams are very bonded to each other and share everything. If there is something else about this picture that worries you, let us know what it is.....

It all has to do with where you are, where the eggs come from, what breed of chicken, etc... No one number is right for everybody. The lowest I will let anything go is 28% on my BCM. All my other breeds I won't go below 35%.
I think there used to be a thread about that...
