Me, either. Disconcerting to know something has gained access & not to know what it is. Fortunately, as long as the birds are locked inside the coop at night, the only way a predator could get in would be to chew through the wood frame of the access door or the heavy welder wire in the center of it, and there's nothing for the culprit to stand on.

So I entered the one million thread contest and I REALLY REALLY hope I win that automatic door! I guessed my birthday. Haha!

There's also the INLAND Northwest. Eastern side of Washington is no coast, and only a couple of storms. But the (occasional) snow. Because when it snows, it really snows lol. Then it melts and repeats...

Something appears to be getting into my coop at night, in spite all my efforts to make it predator-proof. Two mornings in a row now I've found a trail of feed from the tube feeder to the edge of where the coop would be if it weren't raised two feet of the ground. No birds have been harmed; the sliding door on the coop shows no attempt at getting in, and I've found no holes where anything entered from outside the coop.
Hopefully, I'll find out soon enough what the culprit is; I just hung a trail camera outside the end of the run. Never a dull moment...

Trail of feed?... maybe squirrel with a hole in their cheek? Mice fetching the chickens a midnight snack?

well, just spent my lunch hour trying to catch up again! I find if I am gone any more than four hours, all of you get so far ahead, it takes me another four just to catch up!

well, i have caught up here and the new year HAL pages, so I guess I have to go back to work now. Have a good day everyone, and please, try to keep it in the low hundreds when I check in again in 4-5 hours.

Got my bator to hold temps!!! FINALLY!!!

2x3 frame piece under the back vent was EDIT I CANT SPELL WORTH CHIT dried split and was lettin air in!!

I got my first egg from our own hen yesterday in our own coop!!! (Sexy previously lived on grandpa's homestead) . Sooo excited! : ) and mum is bringing my hatching eggs over tonight for the Hal!
