I think I understand your dilemma. You're thinking if no other silkies hatch, it'll be all alone... so you may want to provide it some company. I would be sad for it to be lonely. But... there is a big difference in the developmental stage of a newborn and a week old chick. It would be hard to guarantee the safety of the silkie, since the older chick would be far more active and much stronger. Not saying it would attack the little one, but it may inadvertently injure it while doing what 2-3 week old chicks do. Let's hope for hatch mates so things will be more balanced.If for any reason no other silkies hatch - I have 10 other babies (EE, BA, BO, NHR, ranging in age from 15 days to 20 days. I have 2 silkie babies that are several months old. Can I take one or two of the smallest other babies and put them in with this baby?
