I guess what concerns me as much as anything is whether his sons (or at least the ones I keep) will inherit that aggressiveness toward humans, or even whether it manifested itself as a result of something happening before you or I ever got hold of him, probably involving a man, since he was clearly not that way around you.

I hatched a BCM rooster last year and he was one of the sweetest birds I've ever had. I put him out with a group of four hens when he was about 5 months old and all was well. One day, after about a month of being with the hens, I was going in to fill the feeder and he attacked me. He'd never shown an ounce of aggression ever before that but after that day he was a fowl little.... jerk. He would try to get me through the hardware cloth as I walked by the run. I tried everything I could to get on better terms with that bird (only because my husband said I needed to give him another chance) but nothing I read about worked. I started to notice after the aggression happened towards me, he started getting nasty with the hens too. My last straw was when he attacked me when I walked in to lock the coop up one night. He tore a chunk out of my hand, I put my now bloody hand around his throat and... well, unfortunately for him he is now in the freezer.
