Thanks! How much hot paprika do you put in their feed? I think you've said before, but I forgot.MINIMUM STRESS! =
Good and complete food
Good and clean water
Big space
Minimum flock member changing ( all in and all out policy )
Minimum connection with dogs, cats, little children
Minimum handeling
Extra vitamins and electrolytes in extreme weather
Extra probiotics = the best in my opinion fermenter feed
Un filterd ACV in the water.
A lot of greens and vegetables
Some exte materials that keep the parasites at bay - for me hot paprika
And imidiat treatment of any disease
LOL
X2To them it is a perfect roost for a nap.
Is that cheese? Yummy.
Take a nice big bite.Kathy you don't stop to surprise me with sll this "wonderful " pic you have! Very appetizing!![]()
It all depends on how much moisture they're losing. A couple days low doesn't really matter as much as the average weight loss through day 18.Question twice i caugjt my incubator down at 18 humidity. Today i caught it at 17. Will my eggs be ok im in cali. The temp has stayed constant tho.
Now you feel my pain with mink. Thanks! We don't have any aerial predators, but we occasionally have attacks of mongooses, this is a predator that is a nightmare for chicken growers! It is a predetot that can enter to your coop trough a hole of lees than a 10 cm diameter and can kill ALL you chicken in! I saw more then once, coops that have had 20-30 birds that have lost every one of them in one night!
Here it is!
Because it is an excellent snake and rodents exterminator it is protected by the low.
Maybe your hygrometer is wrong.I put them in on monday night. The incubator says day 2. I thought the alarm is suposted to go off when lowwrr the 18? Will they be ok
They look great. Good luck with your young trees.Chicken Canoe
Now is the high season of the summer fruits here, the Mango and the Lichi are wonderful now!

I think you nailed it.Is your equipment calibrated? What incubator are you using? How many thermometers? Hygrometers?
Calibration is a MUST: HOW TO CALIBRATE post #9068
Daughter loves picnics with elephants. Old toothless retired ones like in the pictures and wild ones....
i would love to have a picnic with an elephant
.................
Nice. We have great farmer's markets but all but one close in winter.
Those are notoriously inaccurate. At least the ones I bought were.https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015...+incubator&dpPl=1&dpID=41SKnCxcUTL&ref=plSrch
This is my inucbator. I have the thermomiter that came with and bought a duel hydrothungy and thermomiter from the reptile section at petsmart.
X2There are some parasitic worm that their intermediate host are snails and slugs, gape worm ,and some other.
It's a white water boat but I'm not using it on an ocean voyage. Ever see the movie 'Perfect Storm'?You can take a ride with the canoe of ChickenCanoe!![]()
Never get poultry medical advice from feed store employees. None I've spoken to had been to vet school.I just looked it up, and apparently ducks can get gapeworm. I never should have believed that feed "expert."![]()
And I want it now!!!patience is a virtue!
X2Insect from one hand are grate food source for them but there is always the tisk of infection! And the truth is that all chicken have parasites, the influence of them on the chicken is depending on their Load, and is dependent on the helth and the immune efficiency of the chicken immune system, instead on treating parasites invest in preventing from them to reach the load that make a damage.
That's about right and that 20% should probably be culled. On another thread a vet said "20% of your flock/herd will have 80% of the parasites"
-Kathy
That does help....
So the more room they have, the better, since there's less exposure to the infected droppings?
Congratulations on the new net.
By the yeast and good bacteria taking up space in the digestive tract and helping absorb nutrients. How does fermented feed help?
LOL
A feed store was giving a talk about chickens. I think this guy worked for the Fetrell feed company. He said that about snails, and he also said you need to give your chickens mash because of this: (he said) feed gets spilled at the feed place every day while they fill up the bags, etc., and at the end of the day, they sweep up all the spilled feed (pig food, turkey food, chicken food, all of it) and mix it in with the chicken food. I should have taken every thing else he said with a grain of salt after that! First of all, wouldn't they put it in the pig food instead if they were going to mix it in with other food? And second, wouldn't this place that does this go out of business? I don't know if I should believe that or not, but I still don't feed my chickens mash. He said he saw this happening at a place he worked in. I have a book by him, but I can't find it, which is probably a good thing.Never get poultry medical advice from feed store employees. None I've spoken to had been to vet school.
And I want it now!!!
Nice catch!

I think they also said something like that.
