Incubator confusion

I bought a Vivo home incubator since the brinsea one wouldn't arrive until a few days after the chicks arrived, but I placed a thermostat inside there and it read 97.5 and the thermostat on the incubator read 100.1. I am confused as I raised the thermostat to 102 because I needed to incubate my quail eggs at 99.5. ANy ideas what I am doing wrong? I placed the eggs inside thereafter the thermostat read 99.5 and 55% humidity. This is my first time incubating eggs. Any tips on this would help.

The temperature needs to be taken at egg height. Also uncalibrated thermometers can vary by a few degrees.
