Just did my first candlein EVER.... day 4... all 10 have vessels. One might have had a blood ring no smell I put it back in. I could actually see the embryo in several and then I saw in one the heart beating.... I got so excited I almost dropped the egg. WOW

That's really awesome! Congrats on the future babies!

My easter hatch just finished up and I now have 67 new babies running around lol. Pictures later tonight hopefully ;)

Congratulations! I have 89 eggs locked down. No clue how many I've pulled out so far but they're still hatching!
That is AMAZING! Congratulations!

I pulled out a total of 39 chickies out of 2 incubators and 2 broody hens. I still have 41 ready to hatch 4/1 - 4/5, and another 26 set to hatch 4/16.

Weeee, go chickies go!!!

Hello, My name Ralphie,

I used to be an incubating addict. I have cured myself. I never had room for all the eggs I wanted to hatch. It caused me grieve having to sell or give away perfectly good eggs that could be turned into chicks,

I added a second incubator and my addiction went away 100%. I feel no anxiety over my hatching now.

I have both incubators running and ready to go. I just placed 62 eggs into my 3 hatchers. I have room for more!

I have about 150 eggs ready to go into the incubators tonight. It is not a problem any more.

I am so happy I am now cured!

I have 30 Creamettes in the hatchers but 2 eggs are iffy, I have 16 BA and 2 SS, 12 EE and 1 turkey egg, which is now on the endangered list.

Hi. I have recently been named "the crazy chicken lady" by my younger sister. I began my incubating addiction on March 2nd. So one hatch down and I am indeed obsessed. I tried the DIY incubator in an aquarium not expecting much but thought me and the kids would have fun. I sat 12 of my barnyard mix eggs because my Roo love his ladies and we knew they were fertile and free of course. Right on time day 21 we hatched wonderfully: beginning while I was at work of course. 9 of 12 hatched without a hitch. One didn't have the strength the zip. I helped a little but decided survival of the fittest was the best option. He got out but didn't absorbe ask his yolk sack. Poor thing didn't make it but a couple of days. Out of curiosity I had hubby crack the other two and they both were fully developed but didn't hatch. Not sure why but again survival of the fittest. My 9 are growing like crazy and I was so thrilled that I am ready to go again.
A local lady is selling Easter Egger and Silkie hatching eggs. I'm doing so revamping on the aquarium incubator and I fully intend to set a dozen locally purchased eggs ASAP.
Oh did I mention I made hubby build my 3rd coop the day before Easter. He was sooooo happy. I love that man.
My current flock is decided into two parts. Flock 1 is 4 Rhode Island reds, 2 barred rocks, 1 black star hen (little bitty), and a black star Roo (who my daughter hates and reminds that he will taste very good one day). Flock 2 is just beginning with 2 buff orpingtons (Buffy & Bridget) they are the sweetest girls in the world. I tried and tried to put them with the others but they are too laid back and it didn't work. So chicken coops began to mulitiply. I've had meat birds too (Cornish X) by accident of someone at tractor supply mislabeling. That was fun! Not doing that again anytime soon. LOL
So here is to the insanity. Chicken math 2+2=100 :) I'm an incubation addict and I'm not afraid to admit it!
