This is Mad Dash - he will be going to the show with me in hopes that I can find a good buyer for him, together with a beautiful double dosed hen.

I have a number of cages that I would be happy to loan out for this project. Perhaps I could find a way to get them to you on Saturday?

=====

Is anyone here going to the poultry show in Lebanon a week from Saturday? I have never been and am wondering how bird sales are handled at this show. I just received my Ayam Cemani breeders association card in the mail today - which also happened to be the day that I decided to get out of raising the breed. I am going to focus on breeding the beautiful Ohiki, fibro phoenix, and barred phoenix. All my other birds will be offered for sale and I thought the poultry show might be the best place to find good buyers for them. Any feedback/advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have two roosters that could help put someone in the position of a nice little micro business. They are genuine fly tie fowl out if Cy Hyde lines. Breed them to just about anything (with the exception of silkies, maybe) and you can get your own line of genetic hackle chickens going. Market price for hatching eggs is $75 for 1/2 dozen. I can share more specific information about the breed and their unique feathers to anyone interested in one or both of my roosters. I also have two barred Phoenix cockerels with the same gene trait available. Hackle and saddles from these birds sell for a pretty penny to fly tie fishermen.

If anyone here is going to the show, I would also enjoy an opportunity to meet you while you are there. I find that I always enjoy connecting with others personally who enjoy raising poultry.

Tomorrow I am selling my f1 fibro d'uccle project birds, and that takes me another step closer to widdling down my flock to only the breeds I know I want to keep and work with long term. It only took me five years and 30+ breeds to make a decision! And it feels good to finally have that solid direction!
There is a sales pavilion where you can rent cages or you can get an outside sales permit and sell from your vehicle. That's usually what I do as the sales pavilion is outdoors anyhow. I usually have several extras that I try to sell there, but this year I don't have many extras of my fancies, except cockerels, of course, but I plan to set up with what I do have.

I'm a gray haired granny type, on the tall plump side, in a red Dodge Ram with a camper shell. Look for me--always love to put faces with user names.

Here's a little more about our Indiana thread:

I AM SO EXCITED!! My cat, Tiger, is back after disappearing for a week and a half!! He adopted us after showing up on our deck eight years ago when he was around six months old. He followed our old grouchy (now deceased) outdoorsy Tom cat around, and Tom acted like his mentor. Tiger has always preferred to be outside although he’s been welcome inside, too. I’ve been going outside with a flashlight every night and calling and calling because that was part of his late night routine to come inside and eat. I couldn’t believe it tonight when my flashlight caught his glowing eyes running toward me!! I had wished for that scene so many times the past ten days that I thought I was dreaming for a minute! I had put Lost Cat signs up and also posted on our neighborhood social media, but hadn’t heard a word. I held out hope that someone was feeding him and that he was out there somewhere since he’s an outdoor survivor type.
@yankeedoodling Your roo is so beautiful! Why did you decide to discontinue breeding Ayam Cenami—besides wanting to concentrate on another breed? I'm not a breeder, I'm just curious (nosey) about if they are more difficult to raise or what. It seems like they would be desirable since you don't often see them.
@jchny2000 So when you said you found random goose eggs, is that like a chicken laying an egg here or there? I'm not sure where geese normally lay. They don't seem like the types to go for nesting boxes!

I need some ideals... I have a 1 yr old that I got the beginning of the year, ( EE ) and I have been trying to put her in the EE pen of course ever since she came out of ISO. ( 8 mths ago ) and she just isn't being accepted by anyone, she sleeps by herself and that just aint going to work for winter. Anyone have anyway special to get her accepted, I have even tried putting just 1 other hen with her and only them 2 trying to get them to buddy up but it never works. The roo's all love her, the hens hate her. I don't want to rehome her she is people friendly and sings to me all the time. And she gives me an egg EVERY day since she started laying. Even through her molt a few weeks ago she still gave me an egg a day.
Any ideals would be great.
Thanks in advance.
