Ugh. Been wondering where my hens were laying their eggs, but I'm pretty sure they've just been piling on top of the broody Australorp, who's only too happy to flatten herself out just a little more to hide them. She's been a pretty dedicated broody, so I think the girl's in it for the long haul and isn't going to quit until she hatches something. Anything that happens is going to be a mix for sure. Going to have to take a flashlight and some pencils to the ones under her.
We have two Dark Brahma roos and one white silkie (who can cover an LF hen). Of hens, we have 2 Australorps, 1 laying Orpington, 2 Light and 1 Dark Brahmas, 4 EEs, 2 SLW,1 GLW, 2 Welsummers, 1 white silkie (who might be laying and just hiding them immaculately). The CX and one BO aren't laying yet. Haven't actually seen any eggs from the DB or silkie certifiably, but they're old enough to be laying. Puff hasn't been doing his manly duties with our BB turkey hens, but once in awhile, I see Wun Wun eyeballing them like he might want to tap those fluffy bottoms. Don't think a Dark Brahma/Turkey cross is exactly feasible, but it would be hilarious. He's big enough to get the job done, but species boundaries are just kind of a real barrier...
