I'm so sorry that there was not a happy ending for her and thank you for posting such a comprehensive update. It may help others in the future.
I did wonder if it might be Marek's. I have the disease in my flock so I understand the heartbreak it causes. I am so pleased you found a thorough and compassionate vet who put your mind at rest that euthanizing her was the right option. I know how hard it is to give up hope and having someone who is knowledgeable and sympathetic to guide you through it is the best you can hope for. I hope that you do not have to deal with any other incidents of this disease in your flock.
