They get dumped by the horse trailer load out west. I read about it in the news at least every 6 months or so. They sell for 10.00 to 50.00 a head at the auctions, at the ones that will consign them.

With the severe flooding in many regions, very very wet conditions in many others, expect corn and hay to skyrocket. The fuel it costs to bale an appreciable amount of hay is off the chain, and we are figuring to double our prices easily. That increase doesnt equal profit I assure you, it flat out costs us double to get the job done. Its not just fuel, the cost of every aspect has risen substainially.

No not surprised at all by that figure. I am surprised that we pay the oil companies who have record profits 4 billion a year to fatten their bottom line. Are you surprised at that?

Governments function is to protect and help the people as well as maintain the commons. Food stamps are in there. Helping oil companies is not.

I am in Law enforcement and I can't tell you how many "families" in the section 8 housing I go to now some families are single mom's (remember now I have been there and done that the single mom thing) I go take a report for various different things....these are 18-25yr old male and female some times both when i get to the job no one works! I worked when i was a single mom I paid my bills took responsibility....to many people think they are owed or someone else can do it...I have an uncle w/ 2 girls in school (single dad) who has sit on his butt and never worked while his girls are in 2nd and 1st grade with litterally fat bellies from the food and money from the govt...he doesn't even buy their christmas...that's what that angel tree in WalMart is for....now i know their are familes that need help during that time and believe me in our city our FOP does a shop with a cop thing but they are looked into wheather or not they actually need help.....I have a neighbor that has money in the bank from inheiratance like 1/2 a mill but still goes to where they hand out free food or clothes for their kids....or the help on needing their electricity bill paid...these are the people that infuriate me...ok off my soap box

I have to agree with that one. However like any other program the majority of the people actually need the food and buy food with the cards and coupons. No matter what the program is there is always fraud. A lot of people are dishonest and take advantage of every kind of system there is. Some sell black market. Some cheat investors. Some cheat on their expense accounts. Some claim SS for dead people. Some cheat on their taxes.

No matter what the system it can and will be cheated. You can't take away from those that actually need because some cheat the system.

thats OK it is easy to get fed up when you are in constant contact with it,Yea probably 90% of the ones I am around are in section 8 housing I lived in sec 8 for a coupla years I got working and making too much money and got kicked out LOLOL it is funny most folks do not realize that section 8 is not just all crazy folks that live there it is mostly just low income housing we are finally tearing down a lot of it here it is just too expensive to bring it up to code it is torn up so badly.

I think the government could clean up the program, cull the abusers from the system but then the administrators would not have a job hmm... I know that anyone able to work would be working community service at the least if I were running the program but giving able bodied people free food is not the answer. One party in our government thinks and tells our youth that the reason they need the food stamp program is because evil republicans want to do away with it when the truth is there are deadbeat dads that won't pony up to support the kids they sired or work for that matter. If I were forced to work to eat I can tell you that would be a good incentive to get a better paying job (a stupid squirrel has enough sense to do it) but if I do not HAVE to work than there is no reason for me to do more than get free money, make sense? Oil company handouts is hardly a comparison as what they do helps run the country not drag it down although they should not get it either for other reasons but then again I use oil so I am partial to the cheaper gas also. I do support food stamps as a temporary supplement not an entitlement. The tea party swept the country and now they are doing what they said they would do even against thier own party that my friend is real change.
