Ingrown feather(?) and issues with dead tissue

Good news, the wound has closed up! At first there was a small bump where it used to be, it didn’t feel squishy but it did feel harder than the surrounding skin.

Now that his feathers have grown back I can’t find/feel the bump.

I am still worried about the bruising on his chest. It hasn’t gone away and I still can’t figure out what it is.

I'm glad to hear he's healing up!

I wonder if the purple is some type of discoloration since it's been there so long. I don't know though.
We can ask @Eggcessive if she may know why the purple/color is like that, it's been there for a few months right?

Yes, it’s been there ever since the wound at that location (which was only a shallow scrape) has healed

Late update, the discoloration went away and the pigeon was released back into the wild a while ago!
