Injured Duck

Did you mix some corn or scratch into his Feed? I'd say give him something you know he likes and will want to eat. For mine, that is refrigerator clean out day

I'm glad to read that your drake is on the mend, I think that seemed like a very serious injury, so for him to survive is indeed very Lucky. I personally would give him a spot of his own, just because ducks are so messy... But I know that people often raise ducks with chickens successfully. I am not one of those people tho, so if you're looking for advice on how to incorporate your drake into a flock of chickens, you might want to start another thread asking for advice from people who keep both chickens and ducks. One last thing, I would make totally, completely, 100% sure that drake is recovered all the way healed before you try any changes in his living arrangements. I have read that chickens will attack wounds on others, so if you put him with others too soon, you could be setting him up for trouble. And I don't know about the wheezing or hissing, I guess you'd have to make a YouTube video and post a link. Good Luck.
I agree with Holly ducks and chickens really do better having their own space I think others will say it doesn't matter. But like Holly says you don't want to put him out with the chickens if there is any wound still in full sight.

I think I'll just have someone build a duck coop I have 3 other ducks now. but he use to be in with the chickens well.. Last flock of chickens that he almost died with. I have guinea in with the chickens but the guinea's kind of pick on each other and the chickens (not horribly like pecking order thing idk Lol.. ) Plus we have the coop devidedd in half but right now there's a broody hen in one half, but I was thinkingthat if I start free ranging I can herd the chickens from guinea and close the little door keeping the guinea inside.

anyway, yes duck house.. Going to have to find somebody to build it for me.

Ducky is finally eating more. But what do I do about the bone that is sticking out with no flesh over it?

I am not sure what to suggest for the bone. It is a very high infection risk. Keep it covered with antibiotic ointment for now, try to get help from a vet or other trained waterfowl rehabilitator.

My dad said it'd fall off at the joint but I honestly do not know. Ill try to get my mom to call a vet and if I call the zoo they'll tell me to take him in and I won't get him back. Should I try to amputate it? (Most likely didn't spell that right..) wrap it up with something? Also his good wing droops and drags and his leg gets tangled on it. He's also acting like he's ready to go back home to the coop but I'm afraid the chickens and guinea will pick on him

Are you sure about the zoo's policy if you are simply asking questions? This is beyond my experience, though I can share ideas, this needs some sort of veterinary care, ideally.

No vets here know anything of ducks. And lasttime i called about a duck who was sick they said to bring her in.

And they will, anything that is not the norm is open for pecking and attack, best not put him back in with them. I'd say a vet at the zoo or start calling around and see if there are rescues in your area because sounds like he may need to have the wing amputated and if you did it most likely he's bleed to death. you have to have proper equipment to do surgery like that. being able to clamp off blood vessels and such. And if he still has any wound openings the flies will have a hay day.
