Injured Racing Pigeon Found

Oh dear.:( That's rubbish. I can't believe he wants her back after all this time. Could you offer to buy her?

I am glad that Pidove is back with his owners though! The owner had only just got the message from the RPRA today. He has taken Pidove back with him and said to keep an eye out in case Pidove returns, with how many days Pidove had been here and how spoiled Pidove was, he might return. :p

Didn't you say its around 26 mi? Pidove might just visit for treats - hope its not during a race!

Turns out that was Pidove's previous owners/breeders he was still registered to on the site, they sent me a letter saying his current ones live 6.2 miles away. :p Hopefully Pidove doesn't decide to stay over during a race! But I won't mind the occasional visits otherwise. :lau

Here's the sound s/he made while mauling my dad's hand to pieces. :lau
Not my vid, but pretty much how it went with Pidove atop the door.

Very cute. You guys from Israel? I hear your father speaking Hebrew, asking the bird "why" LOL. I have family there. In fact, one of them breeds exotic birds in Tel Aviv. People seem to love birds there.

You'll find the easiest way to pick up and hold a pigeon is to put one hand below the pigeon and get their legs in between your middle and ring finger, then wrap your thumb over top the bird's wings and sort of hold them so they don't flap at least one of their wings, if they're small enough you can secure both wings.

That wasn't my vid, but that was what Pidove was doing and the sounds he was making. :lau

I just scooped my hands up around Pidove and lifted him up, also... Now that Pidove has been taken home, I am thinking on maybe getting some of my own pigeons. :p If my dad lets me, that it.

Oh, I missed that part, sorry. You would not be the first person recently to rescue a pigeon and then fall in love with them and want to get more. Hopefully you can start a nice loft.

:thumbsup lofts nearly finished! :wee
I'd put money on Pidove return! But the owner will be wise to that happening so probably won't release her for a while. But I still think she'll return!
