Was looney tunes and Tom & Jerry when I was a kid. And yes, some of them were black and white.

that's what I was thinkin too. Good Grief people are talking about Rugrats they watched as a child. MY SON watched that program. We still watch Tom & Jerry and looney tunes. What a maroon!!!

Mr. Rogers and Reading Rainbow...I miss those shows.

I learned real fast that skirts are not to be worn without shorts. Boys liked to tease girls whos panties they saw and I liked to climb.

Rugrats, as a kid? Sigh.... Yes, it was Looney Tunes for me too, and they were ALL black and white because all we had was an old Zenith black and white BEAST that NEVER got moved. You know, in the wooden cabinet? And then the screen would start rolling and you'd have to get up and smack it or stand in a certain spot only... and all we had were 3 channels, ABC, NBC & CBS... and sometimes PBS depending on the mood of the TV.

And even then, all the channels were snowy.

As far as Kindergarten memories: I had Mrs. Lester, who was WAY too old to be tolerating kindergartners and was always irritable and had a french twist/bun combo in her hair that I'm pretty sure was somehow permanently fixed into place. I remember on the first day of school this girl Melissa, who would turn out to be a horrible bully to most of the kids as the years wore on, invited me into the "coat closet", which was really this free standing coat rack with walls on wheels, where she pulled down her pants and advised me to do the same. I ran and told old Mrs. Lester the awful thing that bad Melissa had done and was promptly sent to "The Chair" for being a "tattletale". What the ????

I also remember the "Letter Books", which were work books that focused on one letter at a time, and we'd do puzzles and fill in sentences, paste stuff into pictures using that ridiculous "paste" that did a great job of drying all over your hands but did little to actually glue anything else. And when we were done with the letter books we got to take them home and that was a VERY big deal and I would guard it with my life on the bus ride home.

I also remember Stephanie, who always had a nostril full of snot. Always. Clogged right over. And she would always make this loud sniffing sound when she talked because, well, I imagine she could not breathe. I still don't understand why she always had a nose full of snot or why no one ever made her blow her nose.

That's just a few offhand...

I watched a LOT of those cartoons too, including the ones form my mom's generation, though then i didn't understand why my mother cringed at ( or out right banned) some of the ones that dealt with minority characters, especially Natives ones.

Now I get it. I cringe too at the Black and Indian characters on those old shows now too.

Lily watches most of the cartoons I watched as a kid. Basically I try to get her to watch things that don't make me want to shoot myself in the face.

Earliest memory from kindergarden? Running face first into the dreamy older boy. He walked me to the clinic because I had a bloody nose. We were best friends from then on.

I Have a great childhood story about kid's quirks, but it is a little bit naughty, in an innocent child sort of way, so if you over 18 and want to hear the story pm me. because it is adorable and funny

I had a kid at school with the constantly boogered nose too. It was disgusting!!!! You couldn't even see up her nose because it was one big booger. I also remember building and racing go-carts down a BIG hill in Glendale - right down the middle of the road.
