Hey All! My first post here, but I have been following this amazing site and getting some very useful info since becoming a chicken owner just over a year ago.
So I have a little bit of a situation. We have 3 hens in our Lavender Orphington brood, they are about 1.5 years old. One of the hens had the curled foot, and we have kept her out of the coop for about 4ish weeks. Once we determined it was not merkes, and we treated her and now she can walk again we would like to reintroduce her to the two other hens. She has been on the outer run of our coop for the last two weeks, (using a open dog create) as optional shelter, and then she has been put in our basement at night. So she has been around the other two all day for a week, just separated. I did try putting her in the pen day two, but the top hen just pecked her... poor girl, and rookie mistake by me.
So I am wondering what I should do. I have the opportunity to get two new pullets, and I have Lilly our outcast, should intro them all at the same time, maybe to deflect the attention away from Lilly? Or should I wait, and add the other two once Lilly is added on her own?
Any advice welcome, and thank you in advance.
