International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I really like this Blue Copper pullet. What do you all think? She is my favorite so far. She has more copper than you can see in the picture. I can't wait to get my first egg from her just to see what color she lays.

I’m partial to blues myself, and I think she’s lovely! :love
Her blue is a little choppy, but she’s still young, and I don’t know if that’s normal for the breed or not. I have some bantam cochins that look that way for a while, but tend to grow out more evenly most times, as they get older.

Thank you, I think what you see is lacing. The lighter birds show the lacing even more. Harvey's Blue Coppers have nice lacing.

She's very pretty! I hope my Blue feathers in that nice
Thank you, I cheated though. It's all Harvey's hard work. I just hope I can do them justice. After the last Marans it's nice to have good stock. I have 3 cockerals ready to cull. One blue Copper that is way over colored. One Birchen and Blue Birchen. They haven't made the cut for sure. I will wait to narrow down the rest.

Another chick and another girl! It's almost too good to be true that all 4 are pullets. There is exactly a 2 week spread now and 1 egg left. This cuckoo is pretty amazing if you ask me. I think Saturday is the latest it will hatch.

Edit: is there any way I'm not seeing headspots! It's a bit shocking to me...
