Duchess has that Elegance I always talk about . show quality trait.. her son s will be stunning ,they ll inherit her stand and body type .
Except heavy cockerel with a deep chest and Elegant ,robust stand .

Elegance is very important trait if we breeding to show .

it is this sort of stand I m expecting to see Duke s achieve . I want to see if he has this sort of Elegance .

broody hen will do a great job for sure .
why you want to work if there is some body else willing to do it for free .
broody hen win every time in my book .

I gave her 3. Its still a bit chilly here and Game hens are smaller in build so I didn't want to give her more than she could handle comfortably. :)

I'm glad you like her. I love her too. She definitely does have an elegance about her, like she knows she comes from a noble bloodline. Lol. I hope she passes that on to her offspring as you said. :)

Duke is a very shy bird, and almost appears bashful and soft spoken if you could describe a chicken in that way. He isn't a very macho acting rooster. His elegance is difficult to capture in photographs because he moves all the time, but I do like his personaility a lot and that is a trait worth selecting for in the brood pen. He is gentle to the hens and isn't obnoxious.

they are lovely . love they hatch down colour .especially last 2 . pure black face with a little dot around they eyes .sign of pullet .
BCM chicks if they are pure they will show a brown dot on they head .sign of pullet too .

they feet is well coloured and feathered . great .

Thank you! They all hatched from the same hen and were darkly speckled eggs. I hope they grow out nice and hope there are many more to come this year. :D

who is they mama ?

I'm thinking their mom is Queen's daughter. The egg shape is very much like Queen's but the color is different. Where they are group mated I don't know for sure though. I can pick Queen's eggs out from the group because I know what her eggs look like, and one of the blue coppers also because I actually witnessed which egg she lays. My husband has been too busy to build me a few more single mate pens like I need so group mating them is the best I can do for now.

I'm there with you, I'm hoping to sell enough chicks to pay for some breeding pens so I can further separate them, I've only 3 pens right now, one is holding extra cocks, one is grow out, and one is everything else, since the cream legbars are suspended right now. I'm hoping to break ground as soon as I get approval to do so. I like my pens big. I have the space, after all, so I want to utilize it.
I marked that nice looking cockerel, and the biggest reason he caught my eye? He had a few silver feathers on the wing bows. I've been fighting autosomal red for quite a while, so when I saw this, I wanted to mark any nice looking guy who had no autosomal red and acceptable markings.
