I'd love to see a large splash flock. Eye candy for sure!

I like the darker Blue also but I think it hides the lacing. I was told medium blue. How many shades of blue and which is the right shade. I don't know. It's all in the details and in the Marans world it's never cut and dry. NEVER!!! lolBlue comes in many shades. What shade of blue is the correct shade? I like the darker blue myself.
Ok, I have been very hesitant to post this. One you will all know I just can't remember names to save my life. I don't remember what chooks man named my two Birchen Roosters. I tryed to look back on posts but couldn't find the post.I looked long and hard and gave up. We named some hens but don't remember their names either.
So I have heart breaking news. My white tagged Birchen rooster is not as white as he use to be. He has Brown on his head. I wondered if it was just something on his head but I don't think so. So I will be trying to find pet homes for him and his 3 chicks. He is the nicest of the two Birchen Roosters. The other one flogged me. Bummer!

iI always group the cockerels in one pen. recording to they ages .I've got to finish some cockerel grow out pens myself. No one tends to want to buy the boys, and once they reach puberty they can become a nuisance until I butcher them... But I want them to get old enough to see who is worth keeping and who is dinner. So many pens needed!
I will be watching that little cockerel. if his comb does not change I will take him. he will bring new blood which is good. all of my marans come from my friend's flock and are inbred.
my new roos grew up together with other 4-5 roos and a few hens. as soon as they came to my place the elegant guy started to chase the nice tailed one. I don't know what will happen if I put different breeds together.
Chooks man, He is not as clean as he looks in picture. His white on his saddle feathers isn't crisp white. Still keep him? My camera lightens everything.do not get ready of this rooster ,his silver is price less .don t to worry about a copper dot around hi head . we will breed it out .
he has too many great thing to pass down to his progeny .
you can back cross to him but you can out cross him to others .
every thing about him is great .body type ,tail and deep chest .

I am going to be getting a Black Copper Cockerel. How is the Blue from a Black Copper X Splash Copper? What are the best combinations of Blue/Black/Splash? They say Blue Copper X Blue Copper is not good because it dilutes the Blue. Any other combos that you like or dislike and why?
