he is looking great .getting bigger and handsome .love his body type .got it from his mama . told you your hens will throw correct progeny .
love the quality of his copper . hope he ll have a lot of it when fully mature .
his comb is nice but need more point .
I like him a lot .do you know his mama?

No I do not know who he hatched from but one of two hens. Yes he is shy on points but he is still looking pretty good so far. He is the only chance to get a replacement. There is another cockerel but he is mossy. I am still on a waiting list so we will see.

this guy silver look good to me from this photo .
do you know his mama hen?he need to be crossed back to his Dam to reinforce a purity of the silver and get ready of the autossomal red for good .

not so lucky. I had to rehome him. his brother was much better but unfortunately he died before I had a chance to breed.

you selected well my friend .gorgeous looking cockerel .the first one/last one .
if the silver still have a slightly tint to it ,means Autossomal red still present .
if there is not any red leakage on the shoulder than it is a sign a pure silver is not far away .

yes the silver get a little tint in the summer for the mature roosters not a young cockerels .
the cockerels should have a pure silver almost white before maturity .other wise they are not pure.still carriers of the autossomal red .

I still have his brother and sisters . one of his sister is a solid blue ,she have a parasitic white but she lay good colour eggs #6 she laid about 7 eggs now all dark and a correct shape . the solid black pullets and a splash pullets all sisters half sisters lay well coloured egg . so I can make solid blue and solid black plus a true white marans dominant solid white .
it is a reason I like to keep as many as I can from each line .I have a lot space . when some thing bad happen ,like loosing one .I always have more to owrk with .strength of numbers .
