that what I m trying to find out who is a Dam , if you think is Xina { agree cockerel look more like they dam } than is easier to find out .
Test the cockerel with Xina ,that will tell you if is a fault you always had but never showed up or just a mutation ?
if a lot of they progeny 3 or 4 chicks out of 10 have split wing than Xina is a carrier too .if just 1 showed up or none than it is a mutation come with Duke .
chooks man
He is the only bird I have produced with the split wing... ever. It has been devastating because he is a big beautiful bird.![]()
sound good plain to me .I will have to set them up to test mate in the spring. Since both Xena and Queen have darker copper it would about have to be one of them that produced the split wing cockerel. I dont think it was Queen because she is pure line A, my original line and Ive never encountered split wing before.
sound good plain to me .
knowing a Dam is very important when breeding .Does help a lot to minimize a culling .

@kfelton0002
I like the one in the back perfect pullet .body type ,hackle marking every thing I see from here is perfect .maybe is just she know how to pose .
tell me about her please
chooks man
I like they body type but the have a lot of extra Melanin making the eyes .feet and face black .Here are two pullets I put up for show. I chose for size and selected my two most mature pullets since larger birds show better. One pullet does have a higher tail and brown eyes but is huge so that is why I chose her. A lot of my other pullets are still young and dainty still.
These pullets are offspring of Duke as well over my hens.
