International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Solid Black pullet .line bred .sired by BM over his sister Shiva ,she is built like a tank .solid long .wide and very heavy .
she will be bred to a Blue Dark cuckoo to produce solid black and solid Blue pullets .Dark cuckoo is very big and heavy ,fast grower .trait trait .

This morning Blaze lunged for me. He usually only attacked my husband. The turkey hen protected me from Blaze. She has whooped his but before. My husband told me she protects him from Blaze all the time. I have a guard turkey. Lol

having turkey with Blaze end up working well for you .
it is only Blaze who attack you or the other cockerels as well ?

Blaze is the only one. The Birchen rooster was attacking us for a while. I would only go in that pen far enough to feed and collect eggs so I wouldn't get attacked. We moved him to a bigger pen. I was worried because I had to go all the way through the pen to collect eggs and feed. I guess all the time just going in far enough just to feed broke him. He is the nicest rooster now. I hope Blaze gets better.

I have 4, one of them is pretty small.. or at least smaller than the others. I got them from a local breeder, I love them. ❤
I feel like they are good representation of their breed!?

they are lovely .correct body type .correct hackle marking and copper quality . love the hen in the first photo . comb need some work that all .
they will throw nice BC marans progeny if they have a correct BCM rooster .

Thanks, I'm glad I'm off to a good start. I'm hoping to get a rooster from a friend of mine that is hatching some eggs, I'll be taking all the Roo's hatched and once they are grown up a bit I'll have to post a picture of them to get your opinion about what one to use. They are supposedly from Bev Davis and Wade Jean lines... we'll see

I was told the Birchen roosters in my line can be aggressive. I was told not the Copper. Jasper is very mellow. That is partly why I kept Jasper and just incase I lost Blaze or Nimbus. Jasper is dad to Nimbus and Blaze. Nimbus seems to be ok so far. Just Blaze is the one that shows agression now.
