Getting rid of them is hard for me. I want to keep 4 of them. Ugh!
I think your right about culling themselves. What will make my choice easier is parasitic white. You know what your problem is right? You bred to many nice cockerels!! Unfortunately you will have to part with some really nice birds but fortunately you have some really nice birds to choose from. IMO this type of problem is the hallmark of a good breeder.
As for making your selections, I choose to think of it as the cockerels are culling themselves rather than you doing the culling. What I mean by this is the cockerels (or pullets for that matter) that most closely represent the SOP get promoted to the breeding pen. Your culls could help someone else improve their lines.
No that is cockerel #4. The one you really liked that had spots. The White band is different cockerel. White band had been in with Ace and Black Jack all along. He has sure changed though.this guy is not white band ?

I had 9 hatch from violet not sure if they are pullets or cockerels. I am thinking of culling Violent and all her offspring. I don't want that long tail going forward. She lays a longer egg also. I dont want that going forward.
