Also he throws high tails and I think she would fix that.

if you cross this guy to your gorgeous BCM hen you are just going to make a mess for sure .this crossing is very hard even if you start with a correct pair .
will take you 3 years of selective breeding to see the first golden salmon . not worth it .

sorry to hear that .we always lose the one we need most .way of life .
BCM pullet is absolutely stunning .
crossing it to a solver salmon is not a easy work ,will take you years of selective breeding and a lot of culls to produce a golden salmon , golden cuckoo .

will take you less time to find her a good BCM cockerel, even from hatched eggs . you have plenty of time .she has to pass her first birthday to be bred from ,cockerel can breed at very young age 4 or 5 month old . .because she is correct , good pullet to start your line from it ,

I guess I will keep looking for wheaten and if I can't find one, my brother has a nice black copper rooster he says i can have.
Thankyou. I appreciate your advice.

I like this cockerel more and more everyday day. He is slower maturing than most of my cockerels but he has good type, breast definition, back length, tail angle, leg spacing and eye color. He is also coloring up slower but he’s beginning to show promise. Although he is a little smaller than his brothers he is quick to defend himself when necessary. He’s getting close to deserving a name...I’m thinking Ragnar or Gunnar.

My pullets are coming along nicely as well. I have 4 pullets that are expressing full copper hackles (see pics), 2 pullets with partial copper hackles (darker shade of copper) and 4 pullets that are expressing no copper hackles. I noticed today that one of my pullets with full copper hackles also has a few copper spots on her breast (I’ll have to get a pic of her).

I have to ask why you want a Wheaten Cock Bird? Do you have Wheaten hens or pullets or just the BCM pullet? BCM genetics (ER/ER) and Wheaten genetics (eWh/eWh) are very different and should not be interbred - it just creates a mess.
