This is good to know.good sign early maturing cockerel ,
I had one start @ 11 days old . @ 4 months he was fully into breeding business . his sisters start to lay @ 6 months exactly .
mark him please .hopefully he has a correct conformation and low tail .
there is many traits we can breed for .it is not body type and body pattern .lot lot more .all need to be addressed if some one want to breed a solid line .

This is the guy I caught crowing.
So far, he stays to himself and is not overly friendly.
I like the cockerels that act this way. In my experience, they end up being well behaved roosters.
8 days old.
looking at this chick body type and hatch down pattern I can see he will be very compatible with line #2 pullets .View attachment 2520069View attachment 2520070View attachment 2520075View attachment 2520076

Yes. I think the travel may have been worth it. I am still worried about the white underfluff that his sire had but as you say, looking at this chick body type and hatch down pattern I can see he will be very compatible with line #2 pullets .
if I remember them when they hatched ,they where leggy type with too much white on them .
this guy is short .long ,stocky . fully feathered . good leg feathers . good hatch down pattern .
so far so good .your traveling trouble seem to pay of . well happy for you my friend .
