The Black Silver are so beautiful. I just want pretty Marans and the darkest egg layers. Variety of Marans is not important. I like my chickens to be dual purpose - pretty to look at and the tasty dark eggs. If anyone has any leads please let me know. Browsing the old posts I saw pictures of your birds. Very beautiful.I hear you about finding more, there are not a lot of Black Silver around and it isn't an approved APA color yet.

Marchick, didn't we meet on the Ameraucana Thread? Do you still have them?Welcome back RedBanks! Glad to see you back!
Yes, I decided to concentrate on Marans so I sold them.Marchick, didn't we meet on the Ameraucana Thread? Do you still have them?
I did the same, Ameraucanas were not for me. Loved how cute they were, the blue eggs but they were too noisy for me!Yes, I decided to concentrate on Marans so I sold them.
What kind of feeders? All my Marans are fired! Free loaders! Where are the eggs! They need to start paying for the new feeders! Lol
I didn't realize how much feed the mice where eating and the chickens where wasting. I am going through 1/2 the feed. So it won't take long and the feeders will pay for themselves. The mice population is way down also. I bought feed last September or October. So the feed lasted 5 or 6 months. That amount would normally be gone in less than 3 months.
I liked them ok but my first love was Marans so they had to go.I did the same, Ameraucanas were not for me. Loved how cute they were, the blue eggs but they were too noisy for me!
