This is my second cuckoo hen . She is very big lay nice dark eggs but she has bad toe . Her name is Portugal .

He had a bad toe since she was a chick . Not sure if she hatched like that or not.

Day Walker 4 years old . Always looking great . The only one left from the old crew . Tomorrow he will be moved to the hens pen .

Why you need sort of identification ?

Thats how I record them in my book along with their name if they have one and any other notes about them.

The ones with names are easy but ones growing out are not.

I can tell who they are for most of them but it makes it easier for me to look them up if I need to for accuracy.

I just cant memorize everything about 20+ Marans. My brain would melt.

Does take time to get to know the young ones . For me leg band is enough plus the name for the keepers .
Love the real attention you are giving to your Marans . Bravo.

Moved few roosters around tonight . We are having so much rain and some pens are always wet .
Day Walker ,plus Frosted and a cuckoo Mamba moved to the hens pen. This 3 roosters where together any way .
My hens still together haven t penned them for breeding yet . The pullets are in different pen.
Tomorrow will take more photos .

This hen is sold . Will be sent to her new home next week with another hen and a rooster as breeding trio .

This big hen with high tail is sold too . Going with the other hen . This breeder is looking for big size . Bird good for a table when butchered .
