Thank you! Since I have a BCM, Blue and Splash I should get an even split of blacks and blues this spring. I'm going to hatch my BCM and Blue separately so the blacks don't get mixed up. I'm hoping to get a couple of nice Blue Copper Marans so I can create more Splash.

I will do the same. I want to keep mine separate also. How is the egg color with your blues and splash? My splash girls lay 4's but no darker. I'm hoping to improve their egg color.

My Blue averages a 5 and my Splash averages a 6. I'm hopeful that one of my 3 BCM Cockerels will improve the egg color. It's a tricky thing because egg production goes down the darker the egg. I will be plum happy if my future pullets consistently lay an average of 6 or 7 on the color scale with an occasional darker egg.

I'm betting you can improve on egg color!

unfortunately the only chick that hatched in september died. I will not take another risk with mailing eggs from france. I am looking for the other options to get them.
