International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Well, Jake's son got himself severely damaged in the face. He went and broke off the front third if his beak. Tried glueing it back into place, but the super glue must have burned a bit and he freaked out and made it worse, so we will leave it and watch him to see if he eats and drinks. If he doesn't, we will invite him inside to be soup, as I don't want him starving to death. I was just going through names for him too. Jake is already 3, and he hasn't a good back up yet, this was the one I had picked out.
Jake better keep being fertile, I don't have a line to the breeder I got his group from any more because the nice guy retired from showing and breeding.

sorry to hear that .

the beak will heel and grow back again .
give him a soft food much and stuff like that .

we see the battery hens they don t have the half of they upper part of they beak ( burn out) but they live .
lower part is a big problem .

chooks man

congrats k felton, that is a huge deal! I'm sure it took a lot of sacrifice, dedication, and hard work! Ive been in a grad program for what feels like forever and I know how sometimes it seems like ish will never happen

Thank you! It was hard, but it flew by it seems. I stayed so busy I barely had time to look up with looking after my young son, working full-time, the chickens, and trying to keep up with housework also. lol. My husband picked up a lot of the slack with the chickens and helped out a lot around the house. I will be starting on my bachelors degree soon after a little break.

Hang in there with grad school! There is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it seems far away! Best of luck to you!
