@kfelton0002

here what stand out the most in this pullet .
1) Elegance . I always said if a person want to show ,they should select for Elegance .she is Elegant .
2) the quality of her copper ,rich end vibrant
3) the type of the copper , red not mahogany neither light .
4) quality of her black plumage ,uniform low sheen black feathers and under fluff .
5) length of her back .
6) greatness of her body type .well put together .
7) the way she walk .head high .chest forward and straight legs . no sign of any sloppiness .

now we have to wait to see the comb and the tail .hope she ll do well .I really like her .

you saying she remind you of Zanitta .than name her ( Zorritta .Zenyatta, Zabella )

Wow thank you! Im so glad you like her too! I love all those names! I will see which one fits her best as she matures more. And I will keep you updated with pics as her comb develops and her tail comes in. :D

@kfelton0002

color wise this cockerel is more correct .BAD comb .his tail look good too .

Apollo X 60 ( this lady is serious breeder I ll name her for you SHERAZ .great fine wise ) is producing nice progeny .few different type are hidden in there . interesting how many type they ll be able to throw .
I can tell they are from a same line but not well inbred .which is a good thing for you ,they still carries a lot different traits the good and the bad .

Thank you! Finally #60 has a name! I love the name Sheraz! She is actually with Apollo now. I am giving Zanitta a break from being single mated to Apollo so he is in my biggest coop/run with my extra Marans hens and pullets I dont have in the single mate pens. Sheraz lays a very distinct egg so no doubt I can pick it out of a lineup. I will rotate him between that pen and back in with Zanitta every few days. He is living the good life. Lol

Kayla,

Very nice chooks - good type, size, comb, and eye / feather color! They have a lot of growing to do but are also full of promise.

Congrats,
Keith

Thank you Keith! I tell you it is such a relief to see some progress! I've had lots of bad luck with baby chooks this year so I will take any victory I can get. Luckily I have all spring to hatch and raise more. :)

And here are updated pics of one of my Cream Legbar cocks, Fabio as he is healing after being dubbed. I couldnt get a decent closeup picture of Fawkes as he is back in with my Legbar hens and kept moving around when I got close.

Fabio is a solid and healthy bird, and never missed a beat after being dubbed. He looks much better now without those necrotic comb and wattles. I know this isnt a Cream Legbar thread but I wanted to post an update for anyone interested. In areas with cold winters, dubbing is a necessary part of raising chickens in my opinion not reserved for just Games. It improves the birds health and their quality of life in subsequent winters. :)

I made a grass frame today with some old scrap pieces of lumber we had. I didnt measure or do anything fancy like that. But I must say I love hubby's Dewalt drill! Uh oh.. mama's been using the power tools! :lol::lol::lol:

I moved it into the Marans run and now I just need to plant some grass seed in there. :D
