No he definitely doesnt look like a Cream Legbar much anymore. He puts me in the mind of a line of Toppy Gamefowl we used to raise. Incidentally Greenfire Farms now breeds that line of Gamefowl, called Flarry Eyed Toppys.

My husband refuses to refer to my Legbars as Legbars, he calls them Toppys because they are crested like his old Toppys!

She is a pretty girl for sure! Looks like she is trying to roost in a tree! My Marans like the trees too.

Those eggs look so pretty the way you photographed them! Nice color!

My breeder cockerels Apollo and Maximus both have white under their hackles! The parasitic white plagues my beloved Marans and haunts my dreams!

Hey Kayla,

It’s always something with Marans! I get now why Chooks Man says we need multiple lines so we can work our problems concurrently instead of consecutively. You’ve made a lot of progress with your chooks so keep doing what you’re doing.

Thanks Keith! Yeah and parasitic white is a problem in many lines so its not just mine. I just have to grow out a lot of birds to the adult molt and select only the ones without white. Even then, the hens dont always show the white and can carry it so its a crapshoot really. I will worry about type and tail angle first like Im doing since that is weighted the heaviest in show. I don't have the luxury of culling all my breeder males and replacing them because at this point they all have white under their hackles. I havent looked at Gideon lately (line B cockerel, aka FRF), but the last I checked him when he was younger he didnt have any. Keeping my fingers crossed he doesnt!

I need some feedback and honest opinions from you guys. I have been piddling with names for my poultry, since I dont have only one breed. I wanted to put the word "fancy" in there simply because the birds I raise aren't your average run of the mill breeds of chickens. They are unique and fancy in my opinion. I have come down to 2 names and can't decide. The first is Felton Fancy Poultry. And the other is Felton's Feathered Fancies.

Here are 2 logos I have thrown together. I can make changes easily. I like the rooster logo best, but I really like the hen logo also.

So what do you all think? Help me choose!
