International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Just for fun, here are two of my Splash Copper pullets. I think I may experiment with them and put a Black copper cockerel over them and see how their blue copper offspring turns out. How do they look? Their eyes are a darker orange so that needs work. Are they breeding pen worthy or should I just keep them in the layer coop where they are? They are about 19 weeks old.
Pullet #1
Her tail is still growing in thats why its short

Pullet #2

I like both they are worthy to be a breeders,

they will mafe a nice Blue copper marans if mated a good BCM rooster .

It is hard for me to tell much from the photos.

The last one has a nice long back. I like the angle of his tail but can't tell much more about it. He looks very dark in this picture.

Chooks man or someone else may be able to tell you more.

Pictures from the front, rear and side.

It is difficult to tell anything about their combs, etc.

I fully agree with RedBank .
chooks man is not a magician ,I can not comment on some thing I can no see .

close up shot please. .
we love picture of marans chooks ,without them the thread become not attractive .

I was told Bev Davis isnt letting her chickens out to anyone right now. There are several breeders that aquired birds from her and breed her lines pure. If you have a facebook you can join Marans Fanciers page and ask around. I must warn you though, they do not like "name brand" bloodlines on there such as Little Peddler or Heaven Sent Ranch. They focus more on the looks of a bird and how it matches the SOP rather than "pedigree". They do think highly of Bev Davis and she is a member on the page and answers questions and gives advice regularly. Check it out. Some of the members are rather snobby but if you can look past them its a great page. Oh and something else I just recently learned. They dont like to hear of birds being referred to as rooster, roo, the boys, the girls, or things of that nature (I am guilty of this). To be taken seriously on the Marans Fancier page, refer to your birds as cock, cock bird, cockerel, hen, or pullet. Lol. Sorry if that is overwhelming.. I didnt mean to ramble on. I am fairly new to Marans so I learn something new nearly every day between that page and this thread.

Sorry for the long post.

they sound to me what @RedBanks said: all hat, no cattle. if people sell champions and keep the parentage stock then why should anyone keep their birds, EXCUSE ME, COCKS AND HENS, for their looks?
