If I get pics of my maran girls will you give feedback on them as well?Im dealing with it myself, and in pullets some of their hackels are lighter than i prefer. Just got to be smart about how you pair them.

What kind of incubators do you all use? If you where to get a new incubator. What would you get?
I'll help any way i can, and this thread and people here are good as gold, the veterans of the page are very helpful also so feel free to post any time.If I get pics of my maran girls will you give feedback on them as well?
The hatcher is nice. Especially if you are trying to keep varieties seperated.I have an old GQF 1202. It's my workhorse and runs steady and without a hitch every year. Then I have a little hovabator 2632E (I think that's right). That I use as my hatcher every week. Also extremely steady and reliable for me. If I were to buy another one, if just but a GQF cabinet hatcher to go with my cabinet incubator![]()

I have a old gqf incubator and hatcher but the electric thermostat went out in my incubator. I bought a new thermostat for the incubator but I don't think I could put it in. So I sent for a new GQF incubator. I hope it is as good as the older models. I should have asked around before I bought the new incubator but I was still curious what everyone else had and liked.
That is a awsome find. Yep my old cabinet is that same ugly color. I am eventually going to get the new hatcher. I talked to my husband and he said you should get them honey. After all you have gone through over the last 5 years with your arm. I would hate to disappoint him. So I better listen to him for once. Lol I can't afford them both at one time but plan on getting both.I found my cabinet on Craigslist for like $150-200. A lady had it in storage for years after she stopped hatching and just wanted to unload it. It's been my treasured find lol. It came with 6 bantam egg trays and the tube and float for the automatic humidity thing but no bucket or tub for it. I made my own with a 5 gallon bucket that I had laying around and a Tupperware dish and a friend had a ton of extra egg trays so I got a bunch of them for free. I love it! I'm still thinking of painting it though. That weird yellowish brown isn't very appealing lol
That's Cool! You are set to hatch just about anything. There is only 1 thing so far that I can see about the new GQF cabinet I don't like. The egg trays sit directly on the rack. No pull out drawers. So in order to hatch you have to buy the egg trays and none come with the machine. So if you buy just the machine. It is worthless. No hatching eggs on there side option. If your turner goes out it would be bad. I like the old design better. My 1202 came with the works for egg trays... Even ratite egg racks! My great uncle hatched every egg he could get. There's quail racks, chicken rack, bigger chicken/turkey/goose rack, and the wierd ratite trays.
Maybe some day I can hatch an emu!
Lol
