I know he is still way too young but this guy has been catching my eye. Not a god picture of him but the only one I could get.

This white pullet could end up with a high tail. Most of the time it is down like this but she can get it up there.

I am liking the Blue Copper pullet on the right. She is one of my darker Blue Copper pullets. She has nice copper but difficult to get a good picture of it.

Good answer, your the husband! I agree we have to raise a lot of birds. Like I said go back to the first few pages in this thread, 2,000 birds 90 keepers!! I am paying about $150 a month for feed and I only have 30 birds. What is the cost for 2,000 birds. I mostly give all my eggs to the Senior Center. I eat all my cull birds. I have Black Copper Marans because I like the color and confirmation of the SOP Cock. I can see no way that this would every be profitable for me! I raise these birds for the pursuit of the perfect bird. TOM ps (I think all my birds are perfect) They just have a few faults!!
I agree, it's definitely a labor of love. I truly enjoy my chickens and the challenge of chasing that holy grail marans. I try to not even think about the thousands of dollars I've spent on chickens and everything that comes with that. I don't plan to sell or try and "profit" off my birds, there strictly for me and my sanity. But i would help a fellow breeder if they needed something from my birds that they couldn't get from their flock.

They are looking good, I'm happy for you. A bit jealous, but happy.

No need to be jealous. I consider them ours. As in our groups! It takes a special group of people to appreciate the Marans beauty, the challenge of trying to breed that one special bird. The love of the breed. None of my friends get it.

My friends! I knew you all would get it. My friends that are not on a Marans thread. They don't get it. They look at me like I am crazy. Well maybe just a little Marans crazy. I have to admit.
I like to think they just haven't had their life enlightened by chickens, they can't help it, they just don't know.

What kind of incubators do you all use? If you where to get a new incubator. What would you get?
From what i hear the sportsman 1502, I just bought one myself so i'll find out. Everything i hear about them is good if you want to do some serious hatching, brinsea makes a couple differnt good smaller ones for smaller more hobby type hatching.
