International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Hi all. I'm brand new to this breed and fairly new to chickens in general. I just hatched out my first FBCM 3 days ago. I had ordered 18 shipped eggs but only one hatched. I'm trying to learn about this breed and hopefully develop a healthy line that conforms to the French standard. I'm going to share (a lot) of pics from our lonely little guy. I'm looking for early first impressions from some of you who are well seasoned with this breed. I took these pics about an hour ago so he/she is three days old now. I don't know if feather sexing is possible at three days old and I don't know what to look for but I did include some of the wing in hopes someone here can give me an educated guess. Of course, I think it's a gorgeous chick but I have no idea if that means it will be nice breeding stock. Any experienced feedback will be much appreciated.

Chooksman, I know you say they are too young for parasitic white. The under fluff on the BLC cockerels are white and white foot feathers. They are about 12 weeks old. What's up with this?

I didn't get good pictures and there are so many! These are the 4 pictures that I took. 8 1/2 & 7 1/2 weeks old.

I got 10 eggs from a local breeder (4 BCM, 2 BLM, 2 Splash CM, 2 LCM) to hatch under a broody. I had 3 chicks hatch. I added some Ameraucana chicks later to broody after so few hatched. I am very interested in feedback on the 3 chicks ( I believe to be LCM, SCM, BCM). I hope this is an ok place to post the other variation. From the feedback I’ve seen the BCM is not the best? I don’t have great pics since broody is a bit uncooperative. They hatched 6/20 so around 3 weeks old in pics.

I know I'm showing my ignorance so please forgive me. What do the abbreviations stand for? FBCM I understand to mean French Black Copper Maran. What are all the rest?

I may be abbreviatIng wrong. But they are Lavender Copper Marans, Blue Copper Marans, Splash Copper Marans. The one that looks like Black Copper Marans hatched from an egg from all Blue pen.

I have a lot to learn. I've never heard of the lavendar copper marans. Thank you for the info.
